L’HYPERACTIF
about this artwork
THE HYPERACTIVE arises from wood as an explosion of energy, composed of an assemblage of metal parts diverted and reinvented.
His disproportionate gaze, his radiant smile and his inherited hair instill in the chimpanzee a personality as funny as it is irresistible.
PACOM plays here with shapes, textures and mechanisms to give the metal an amazing expressivity.
The natural wood support, integrated with the metal frame, brings warmth and depth to this moving figure.
A work full of humour and character, where imagination transforms industrial matter into an intensely alive face.
about this artist
PACOM is a contemporary French sculptor.
Self-taught and passionate about creation, he develops a universe where matter occupies a central place.
He mainly works metal, which he combines with wood, stone, concrete or paint. Very attached to recovery, he gives a new life to abandoned materials and objects, which constitute a large part of his creations. His work alternates between figurative sculptures and more abstract compositions, exploring notably the animal world, the human figure and imaginary universes.
Each work is designed as a unique piece, original and unreproduced, bearing the personality and sensitivity of the artist. Cut, soldering, grinding, assemblage, oxidation and material effects fully participate in its artistic language.
Under his hands, the robustness of the metal fades gradually to reveal movement, expression and sometimes surprising lightness.
The artist sees each of his sculptures as a new challenge, both artistic and technical, guided by great freedom of creation.
His singular universe thus transforms raw material into expressive works, where strength, imagination and emotion meet.
